556 viewsPatrick’s story about the loss of his young son was featured on the site on February 27, 2013.
“We went to St. Vincent three days…Friday for the night practice where Kathleen got lots of autographs; On Monday (8/5), I got Ben’s autograph on my son’s jersey. I told him it was my son’s favorite jersey and that he had passed away December 30th and had been featured on his site. He looked at me and said, ‘I am sorry. (Pause) I am really very sorry!’. It was very nice for him to acknowledge it all in the pandemonium that was surrounding him at the time.
On Wednesday (8/7), we went back with one of the kids’ ski instructors and three of their ski buddies. Kathleen and two of the kids got Ben’s autograph. Kathleen was beaming. I was amazed at how gracious Ben was… It had been a long practice and both his right elbow and left knee were heavily iced and he moved gingerly. In spite of this, he signed hundreds of autographs… It was a pretty impressive display.

In Memory of Connor484 viewsMy son, Connor had always wanted Ben’s autograph but never got it. I teared up after and felt like I accomplished something for him. That jersey will be framed with a plaque honoring my son in our basement, which is heavily laden with Steeler memorabilia.
Thank you, Mr. Roethlisberger for your sympathy. Thank you also for all the time you spent, in spite of being banged up, signing autographs. You made one little girl’s, and a couple of her buddies’ day.†– Sincerely, Patrick Williams

2013 Steelers Training Camp484 views“Thanks Ben for making my son’s training camp visit so memorable! Ben threw his wristband to him today and he has not taken it off yet. My son Keiran is a quarterback and of course wears #7. He can’t wait to take the wristband to practice to show his teammates. Thanks again Ben!†– Jennifer LippmanAug 10, 2013

Adding the crowning touch!489 viewsChad Pointer was married in that jersey back on June 29, 2012! He shared his photos with us in March of this year. His wish was to go to training camp and get Ben to sign it...and it happened, on the first day that camp was open to the fans!
"Ben in my book is second to NONE from his Ironman play on the field to his K9 work off the field", Chad said in March. "We live in Evansville Indiana and love our Steelers and the greatest QB ever!!! Our first date was to the Tampa Bay vs Steelers game 3 yrs ago, she was a TB fan, has been a Steelers fan every since. We were married in West Palm Beach, Florida, the same place I proposed a year before. We then had our reception back home in Indiana - even entered the room to 'Renegade' playing."

July, 2013 - Steelers fan heaven at Hells Point3719 views"My friend and I had the pleasure of meeting Ben at one of Virginia Beach's golf courses, Hells Point. The pace of play was a little slow due to a small tournament that was ahead of both of our groups and we crossed paths around the fifth hole. What can I say, It was a huge pleasure meeting with him. My friend Jimmy Banicar and I approached him casually and said we were both big fans and we just wanted to meet him. Ben was not only inviting, but he seemed very appreciative of our approach.
"After a few pictures and a few moments of conversation, I informed him of a few cool places to check out around town including my restaurant Calypso Bar and Grill. As expected he responded with, "Yeah sure. We will try and stop by!". Never did I expect he would take my recommendation and actually fit Calypso into his busy schedule - but he did! The staff and guests all agreed they had the best time being around such a down-to-earth person. Meeting Ben was a great pleasure, not only from being a Steelers fan, but also for the class act that he is! Thank you Ben!" -- Bryan Connolly, VA BeachJul 16, 2013

July, 2013 - Steelers fan heaven at Hells Point750 views"I was playing golf with my friend Bryan at Hells Point Golf course in VA Beach. We ran into Ben on the course. He could not have been any more friendly! We talked briefly about how I had grown up in Pittsburgh, and how I am the Biggest Steeler Fan ever. Ben is my favorite Steeler of all time. It was so cool of him to stop, talk and take a pic and then to have him sign my Steeler golf bag. What a great day! Thank you Ben!!" -- Your #1 fan, Jimmy BanicarJul 16, 2013
