Johnny's Jeep (and RJ's too!)2241 viewsFrom Johnny Dabovich:
I've been a Steelers fan since the age of 7, I'm now 44. Growing up in New Mexico and now living in Colorado, it's hard to collect anything with 'Steelers' on it. So when I had the chance to paint a vehicle black and gold I jumped on it.
My son RJ is a huge fan of Ben, His entire room is covered with Steelers memorabilia. We went to Pittsburgh to watch the AFC Championship game but RJ was bummed he didn't get to ever meet a player, hopefully will get out there again during training camp so he can meet Ben or other players.
RJ would be pumped if he knew Ben saw "his" jeep.
I restored the jeep to have fun in the mountains and go off road, when it was complete I asked Kenny Banks to put a mural on the hood and some kind of a pattern down the side. He said he always wanted to do something big but he always had to paint what the customer wanted and nobody would have the patience to complete a big project. I told him that as long as it had something to do with the Steelers he could run with his idea.
So 18-months later, this is what the final project looks like. I always joke with Kenny that he ruined my jeep, cause now it just sits in the garage.
The pictures really don't do it justice. It won a car show here in Pueblo for best of show first time out. Most people see it for what it is and complement it, but there are those dumb Bronco fans that mock it.
*Johnny, thank you so much for sharing your photos!

August 30, 2010 - Teddy shows off his "Big Ben Shoe"1928 viewsWe were just at the Steelers-Broncos game in Denver (August 29th) and we'd like to thank Ben for tossing his shoe to us. It's the first time I ever sat in the front row and I apprehensively bought the tickets a week before, wondering what I was doing spending so much money on a pre-season game…. Now, I know why.
This was my son's first ever football game and I can't tell you how exited he is to have one of Ben's shoes (see photo above showing his fellow 1st and 2nd graders).
If we hadn't left our seats at halftime, I'm sure Ben would have signed the shoe like he did for the kid and dad sitting next to us...oh well. As I told my son, only 2 in 66,000 people at the game got one of Ben's shoes.
I don't know what is next for my son. At 6-months old, Jackson Browne picked him up at a concert and now at 6-years old, Ben gave him a shoe!
Thank you again, Ben from the bottom of our hearts!
Have a great season; Super Bowl #3 is coming soon! I've been a fan for a long time and I'm convinced Ben will be the first quarterback to win five Super Bowls.
Go Steelers, Go Ben!

From his email:
"P.S. Tell Ben that I'm also a Miami grad (1982) and I'm a pretty old dad (51 and my son is 6), so he's got plenty of time. We went to the same school together at different times."
