Perhaps the reason Ben isn't smiling is because there was no Big Ben's Beef Jerky being offered!

'Father Knows Best'265 viewsFrom the delightful article by Teresa Varley at Steelers.com:
Ken Roethlisberger might have done something no other coach has done to Ben Roethlisberger.
He benched him.
Now mind you, it had nothing to do with his play at all, nothing to do with his hard work.
It was simply because dad didn’t want to show favoritism.

The Hixenbaugh Men....1041 viewsDad Jeff, sons Jared (left) and Jaxen wear their #7's proudly.
From Jeff:
"I would like to let you know that Ben and the Steelers have gotten me through some very tough times. My middle son Jayden passed away over 4 years ago. He was 3-1/2 years old and had his own unique genetic disorder. We almost lost him after his 1 year birthday. He was in the hospital the whole month of Jan. 2006 in the PICU. I would go there to give his mom a break on Saturday evening. Sunday I would put on my #7 jersey and put my Terrible Towel over Jayden. I did this for all three playoff games. He was home for the Super Bowl win. Even now I think of Jayden a little harder when my Steelers are playing. So thank you Ben and the Steelers.
