March 5, 2008 - Charity Basketball Event2507 views Steeler defensive end Brett Keisel was up to his antics again Wednesday Night, this time at the Riverside High School. Antics that included hoisting a lucky fan, this time a young Steeler fan, high above his shoulders for a slam dunk and also throwing down a dunk of his own -- all part of the show the Steeler basketball team put on against the Riverside B.E. Taylor & Company squad.
Keisel and the rest of the Steeler basketball team were joined Wednesday night by quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
Big Ben played the entire game, showed his hops by throwing down some dunks during the game, and spent half-time signing autographs for the fans.
The Steeler squad consisted of some of the same players that attended Lincoln High School last Friday night along with running back Najah Davenport and Roethlisberger. Proceeds from the event benefited the Riverside girls' varsity softball team.

October 26, 2012 - Make-A-Wish receives check for $25,0001484 viewsThe Ben Roethlisberger Foundation donated $25,000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation! That money will allow Make-A-Wish to grant wishes to six children!
Ben presented the check to Judith Stone (pictured with Ben and his father, Ken), President and CEO of Make-A-Wish during an impromptu press conference this afternoon after practice.
The money was raised during The Ben Roethlisberger Foundation Invitational Golf Tournament in July.
For the past several years, Ben has devoted his time to the Make-A-Wish Foundation because of his passion to help children.
“It’s no secret how much the kids mean to me. When someone has a wish and they want to spend it with the Steelers that touches you and is special. For us to be able to do this and be able to have six kid’s wishes come true is awesome. Being there to meet them, shake their hand, sign an autograph means a lot to me.†– Ben.

2013 Ben Roethlisberger Football Camp811 views"I can't believe the first day of Ben's camp has come and gone already!! But, it was a beautiful day, good weather and a full camp...kids as far as you could see! LOL! Poor Ben, though, still has his knee all bandaged up so he divided his time around being on foot, on a bicycle and in a golf cart. But nothing seemed to slow him down! Actually he was able to get around to see all the kids playing their 7 or 7 games even faster being in the cart. At one point, I was standing in the field taking pictures of my grandson and suddenly there was Ben, driving right behind me in the golf cart. He probably wasn't 5 feet away as he came from behind and around to my side before he was off again!" -- Anita Doddroe
