July 25, 2012 - Seargeant Joe Stanton & Mako1564 viewsThe vest this K9 is wearing was purchased with funds donated by The Ben Roethlisberger Foundation!
From the Facebook page of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, MD (thank you to Jim Johnson, Jr):
Sergeant Joe Stanton, head of the Sheriff's Office Canine Section, and his partner Mako have been a team since he began his training when he was a puppy in 2005. This award winning canine team graduated from patrol and explosive school and have been partners since 2006. Sergeant Stanton is one of the leading Explosive Instructors and trainers here in Montgomery County as well as Statewide and has been the Canine supervisor at the Sheriff's Office since 1999.
Mako is trained in patrol as well as explosives detection. Mako and Sergeant Stanton respond regularly and assist the Montgomery County Police canine Section with calls for service to include: robberies, bomb threats, burglaries, and domestic violence calls. They were also one of the first responders during the hostage incident at the Discovery Channel building in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Sergeant Stanton oversees the training and qualifications not just for Mako but for all four of the Sheriff's Office Canine handlers and their amazing partners. Sgt Stanton displays tremendous dedication to his profession and his genuine care for all of the canine dogs and the handlers.
Sergeant Stanton was recently instrumental in the Sheriff's Office receiving 2 separate grants from Pittsburgh Steeler quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's Foundation for K9 equipment, to include ballistic vests for all Sheriff's Office dogs. Way to go Joe!!

Veterans Day Weekend - 2012982 viewsThis is a photo of my buddy, Joshua Robert Maurer with my daughter Taylor Heath from a Blue Angels air show in Jacksonville, FL.
We were fortunate enough to gain access to the runway at NAS Jax and snap a pic against the Blue Angels!
Joshua is stationed at NAS Mayport (also in Jacksonville) in the U.S. Navy.

April 5, 2008 - Second Annual Ben Roethlisberger Challenge1475 viewsPhoto & Story by Trish:
Ben raffled off many items..and darn it..I was 3 tiks away (in numbers) from winning his cleats.
Ben packed the house in..tiks were sold out and people were begging to buy ours..we had 1 extra tik so we gave it away. The crowd went WILD when Ben's team came out..very cool. They won like 107-90-not for sure. It was pandemonium when the game ended.
It looked like he made a lot of money for the scholarship..everyone had a blast. Ben entertained the crowd. He threw t-shirts to kids, did tons of raffles, and just looked like he was having so much fun. He took pics w/each member of the opposing team, the refs, refs kids. Very nice.

Halloween, 2016544 views"For 7 consecutive years, Big Ben has been my costume for Halloween, my favorite player, and a role model I look up to (don't hate). His humility, heart, sportsmanship, leadership, and desire for excellence is inspiring and has always been something I admire. I'm even on his website somewhere! 😂😂 But after 7 years, this year I'm retiring the costume for awhile. I love Pittsburgh, love Big Ben and his family, and love wearing this jersey. Wouldn't trade it for the world 😎😎ðŸˆðŸˆ #BigBen #HereWeGo #SteelerNation #StairwayTo7 #CityOfChampions" -- Elijah Benjamin
