November 10, 2019 - Rams vs Steelers464 viewsMatt Freed captured this moment on the field between Ben and Dick Hoak.
Did you know?
“Chosen by the Steelers in the seventh round of the 1961 NFL Draft, Hoak had an impressive career, amassing 3,965 rushing yards in 1132 attempts (3.5 avg) with 25 touchdowns. He also caught 146 passes for 1,452 yards (9.9 avg) and 8 touchdowns. He was named to one Pro Bowl and led the team in rushing three times. He retired after the 1970 season as Pittsburgh’s number 2 all-time rusher, and is currently fifth all time in rushing yards out of all Steelers.
Hoak was hired by then-coach Chuck Noll as running backs coach in 1972, and served in that position for 20 seasons. He passed on the head coaching job with the USFL’s Pittsburgh Maulers when offered it in 1983. Noll retired in 1991, and Hoak was the only one of Noll’s assistants retained under his successor, Bill Cowher.
During his tenure, the Steelers rushed for over 30,000 yards (the only team to do so in this time period) and led the league in rushing yards three times. He was the position coach for Steeler greats Franco Harris and Jerome Bettis.â€

February, 2013 - Garrett Koch's school project463 viewsGarrett and his teacher, Mrs. Stahlman, pose with his poster.
Students in Mrs. Stahlman's third grade class at Big Walnut Elementary School in Sunbury, Ohio recently learned about biographies through an interest-based project. Students were given the choice of a famous person that they wanted to research. Their end project was the biography poster. Garrett is a huge Steelers fan and loves wearing his Roethlisberger jersey to school, so the choice of completing his project on Big Ben was an easy one!
Mark Cooper, Principal of Big Walnut Elemetary (and a big Steelers fan himself) tweeted Garrett's awesome poster to the site's Twitter page!
And thank you to Garrett's parents, both of whom are Cleveland Browns fans, for allowing us to share Garrett's work with his fellow Steelers fans!

"Dylan is THE Biggest Steeler fan in Arizona!"463 views"He is 21-years old and has recently lost his eyesight. So his Steeler glasses his cousin sent him from PA came in handy when he was listening to the game outside on Sunday. He did have a corneal transplant, but so far it has not taken, he is scheduled for another eye surgery on the 22nd. He has been through a lot and he misses not being able to see his STEELERS play football." -- Danielle Fennell

"Thank you to Ben & Ashley"463 views June 21, 2014 - Hamilton Family Reunion/Memorial 2014
Courtney Dadejko wanted to share her family’s story of a surprise meeting at a Pittsburgh-area restaurant:
Our grandmother passed away in February of 2014, and we were all able to get together for a memorial service for her on what would’ve been her 90th birthday. We had a very long day putting her to rest and remembering her life on the day of her birth, June 21st during a family reunion.
The older cousins decided to unwind at the Latitude 40 restaurant, and to our surprise we all got, what we thought, was a present from her…that’s right, Big Ben and his beautiful wife were outside on the deck! What a wonderful treat for all of us on such a sad day!
We have Steelers fan family members from all over the country in this photo, Washington, Indiana, Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania, and Maryland and we all got to meet the great one together. I’d like to say thank you to Ben and Ashley for being so wonderful to us on what is for sure a day none of us Hamilton’s will ever forget! – Courtney Dadejko
*Thank you right back to the Hamilton Family for sharing their photo and story!
