May 4, 2013 - Sports Vault Shop at King of Prussia Mall1063 viewsI have been looking forward to a chance to meet Ben for quite a while, so when I saw that he would be at the King of Prussia mall I arranged for the photo op. My friend Mollie did the driving (yes, that is a true friend) and Tracy came along for a fun day. When we arrived I was amazed at the length of the line -- and the sea of number 7 jerseys! From far back in the line we knew Ben had arrived by the screams and cheers that went up. After that the line moved fast. I was taking a photo for the gal in front of me and when I lowered the camera, a tan and smiling Ben was waiting for me to step up. Yeh -- butterflies!

While they took the photo I said something about hoping I wouldn't pass out!! Of course, the picture was taken while I was speaking. Knowing how excited I had been to meet Ben, my friends teased me about my head exploding! I must say that Ben was gracious and friendly, and truly seemed to enjoy meeting his fans. I've been on this hobby for over 10 yrs and didn't recall Ben ever doing one of these before. I have to be honest, I wasn't expecting Ben to be as great as he was. I found Ben to be as engaged with the fans as anyone I've ever seen. He bent over backwards to give the fans what they wanted.

"I didn't anticipate Bryce getting his picture taken with him. So when it did happen, I literally got tears in my eyes. At 7, I would have given anything to have had the opportunity with Terry Bradshaw. Thanks to Ben's graciousness, a little boy's dream came true. And so did a father's, who lives through his little boy. Thanks Ben! Btw, I know exactly how the tattoo guy feels. I have a tattoo of Jack Lambert. I met him and he signed it. He's pointing to the tattoo of himself on the back of fan Danny Winslow, who traveled from Newport News, VA to attend the event in Chantilly, VA. Ben signed Danny's back beneath his tattooed likeness and Danny plans on getting the autograph tattooed to his back right away!
