September 6, 2021 - Oh Captain, My Captain!403 viewsFrom Teresa Varley at Steelers.com this afternoon:
They set the example. They lead by their actions, and often by their words. They are an ear to listen when one is needed. A voice to speak out when the moment is right.
They are dependable, on and off the field. They are the ones others watch in practice, in games and even in the locker room.
They are the ones, who quite simply, set the standard.
And that is why they were named the Steelers 2021 team captains.
Steelers’ players voted on Monday for the captains and this year’s team captains are Ben Roethlisberger on offense, Cameron Heyward on defense and Derek Watt on special teams.
Roethlisberger, who is in his 18th season, has been the team’s offensive captain 13 times in his career, including 11consecutive seasons.
Heyward, who is in his 11th season, is a defensive captain for the seventh consecutive year.
This is the first time Watt has been voted the special teams captain, after joining the Steelers in 2020 as an unrestricted free agent and immediately making an impact on the unit.
Congratulations Gentlemen!!

Halloween game, 2021: 238 viewsBen completed 22-of-34 (65 %) for 266 yards, with 1 touchdown, no interceptions, and a rating of 98.4. And when the Steelers absolutely, positively needed their quarterback to make a play with 1:48 remaining so that his team could get the first down that would all but ice the outcome, he delivered there as well. He delivered big time, with a perfect strike to Diontae Johnson that not only converted the second-and-8 from the 28-yard line but also allowed Johnson to catch the ball in stride. - Bob Labriola.

November 9, 2021: Bears vs Steelers222 views“Roethlisberger found rookie tight end Pat Freiermuth for both of his touchdowns, but his night was highlighted by his final drive to put Pittsburgh in range for the game-winning field goal. The veteran found Diontae Johnson on a 22-yard gain with just over a minute remaining, then hit Freiermuth for 13 more shortly after for good measure. In doing so, he helped the Steelers earn a fourth straight victory, a span that’s coincided with Roethlisberger throwing zero interceptions. The 39-year-old will strive to continue his winning play in Week 10 versus the Lions.†— RotoWire.
