It’s a time to stop and give thanks to our military…

With all my heart I give my thanks,

to those in uniform regardless of ranks.

You serve our country and serve it well,

with humble hearts your stories tell.

So as I rest my weary eyes,

while freedom rings our flag still flies.

You give your all, do what you must,

with God we live and God we trust.

Amen. — (author unknown)

*Thank you to Greg Yakubik, Lance Corporal, U.S. Marine Corps, for sharing this prayer and to David Quarto, Retired Lieutenant, Fairfax County (VA) Sheriff’s Office, for sharing his beautiful photograph.

And it’s never too early…

to sponsor a wreath for a fallen soldier’s grave during the Christmas holiday season!

Memorial Day may herald the start of summer vacations for many, but donations are already being accepted for the 2021 Wreaths Across America Remembrance Ceremony, which is scheduled for Saturday, December 18th, 2021.

From their website:

“Wreaths Across America coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies at more than 2,100 locations across the United States, at sea and abroad.

While coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies each December on National Wreaths Across America Day is a big part of what we do, our mission to Remember, Honor and Teach is carried out throughout the year. From our Remembrance Tree program to the Wreaths Across America Museum in Maine, there are many different ways in which you can get involved!”

If you would like to sponsor wreaths to be placed on the graves of our military this December, now is the time!
