A Father’s Day message

From Benjamin, Baylee & Bodie:

To the best Dad in the whole world!

We could not have picked a more special Dad than you.

We’re so thankful for all you’ve taught us – fishing, golf, horseback riding…

but most of all, how to follow Jesus and love others always. Happy Father’s Day!

And a special Happy Father’s Day to Pops and Pappy, and especially to our Uncle Tyler on his first ever Father’s Day! You’re going to be an amazing dad to our baby cousin Samuel! Congratulations! XOXO.

#ThrowbackThursday – Kids Camp Edition

This will be the first time in a long time that Ben’s ProCamps Kids Camp will not be held on Father’s Day Weekend…but that’s doesn’t mean we can’t take a look back at all the fun that has been had in previous camps!

“To me this is what it’s about. I have an unbelievable platform to share so many things, whether it’s about life, faith, family, football. To be able to come out here and teach football, sportsmanship, fun, that is what it’s all about. I just want people to understand you can have fun and be safe if you are taught the right way. That is what we are doing.” — Ben.

#30 on #7: ‘He’s a winner’

James Conner, interviewed on NFL Live earlier today, was asked if Ben has what it takes to lead the Steelers to another Super Bowl:

“No question about it. … he’s a winner and he wants another one bad before or whenever he decides to hang it up. I hope it’s not for a while. He wants another one, and I want to be able to get one too.”

When asked about Ben’s mindset & rehab:

“He’s confident. He worked so hard to get back to where he was playing confident. We’re excited for him. That’s our leader, that’s our guy. Just so thankful that we got our quarterback back.”

‘Giving back with love and friendship’

From Teresa Varley, Steelers.com:

For a decade they have shared a commitment. A commitment that has brought joy not just to those they have given back to in the community, but joy to themselves as well.

And they have done it without a lot of fanfare, without attention and cameras capturing every moment, even though they deserve accolades for the work they do.

It’s not what they look for, but on Friday night, it’s what they finally received.

The ‘Ladies of Steel,’ which are the wives and significant others of the Steelers players and coaches, were honored by the Women’s Center and Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh (WC&S) with the Ted Craig Humanitarian Award at the Celebrating Survivors virtual event.

“They have been amazing,” said Nicole Molinaro, President and CEO of the WC&S. “There are wives who have been with us for a while. There are wives who the players have left the game, or the team and they still reach out and help us. There are new ones that come in. They have been so consistent. They do so many programs and events for our wives and kids and they are always the highlights for our residents. Throughout the year they do wonderful activities and gestures for the women and kids. They are incredible partners.

“What we love the most is not that they do these events and provide meals, but they really talk to the women and kids. You look at the group of people when they are there, and it looks like it’s old friends talking to old friends. They get right in with our residents, talk and get to know them, and give them the hope they need. The people at our shelter get encouraged when they see outside people supporting them. It really means a lot to them. To have the partners of the Steelers, who everyone loves and cheers on, to have them come in and show them they are special is incredible. Their work is so meaningful.”
