Ben has to wait 5 years to go into the HOF

…but his jersey didn’t, grass stains and all!!

From the Pro Football Hall of Fame website today:

“The 2021 season was Ben Roethlisberger’s final one of his career. He started in 16 games while throwing for 3,740 yards and 22 touchdowns and led the Pittsburgh Steelers to a playoff berth. He moved into fifth all-time in career passing yards (64,088) trailing only Tom Brady, Drew Brees and Hall of Famers Peyton Manning and Brett Favre.

Roethlisberger’s jersey from Week 18 when he played in his final regular-season game is now on display in the Pro Football Today Gallery.

During the game on Jan. 9, the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Baltimore Ravens in overtime (16-13) to clinch their playoff spot. Roethlisberger threw for 244 yards and one touchdown.”

‘Take back Tuesday’

We’re takin’ you back five years ago today, when the Three B’s took over Dad’s website while they visited the San Diego Safari Park. And here we go…

“Hi Steelers Nation! It’s your friends, Benjamin & Baylee, with our baby brother, Bodie. We wanted to share our first off-season adventure with you”:

1_540
“We’re here in San Diego with Mommy & Daddy, Grandma & Pops, and Aunt Carlee….and guess where we went yesterday?

The San Diego Safari Park (hopefully Miss Erin linked that!), and we had a WILD time, heehee.” — Benjamin & Baylee.

4_420
“Yeahhhh, okay, I’m smiling, but…I’m…not..so..sure…about being this close to a real tiger!” — Baylee.

3_420
“Whew! Thank goodness my Daddy is here to protect me! He’s my own personal Super Hero!” — Baylee.

2_420
“I’m not scared at all. Nope. Not me! (Um, he’s not right up next to the glass is he?)” — Benjamin.

6_420
“I’m tellin’ ya, the best part about this whole baby brother thing is that I get chauffeured all around the park!” — Bodie.

7_420
“So according to this map, we can see the pandas AND stop at the soft serve ice cream hut! That’s a win-win in my book!” — Baylee.

8_420
“Me and my Dad – we’re bestest buddies!” — Benjamin.

9_420
“We go together like peas & carrots!” — Benjamin & Baylee.

family_540
“Whoa now….we’re a little TOO CLOSE to the Lion Camp for the family photo, which means I’m gonna need a diaper change – ASAP!!” — Bodie.

10
“Well friends, we’re off to find new adventures! Thanks for coming along with us on this one.” — Benjamin & Baylee.

“We want to thank everyone at the San Diego Safari Park for the amazing day! If you have never been, make sure you put it on your to-do list.” — Ben & Ashley.

It’s ‘Thank You Thursday’

…because I just couldn’t fit any more amazing messages to #7 into yesterday’s post!

More from Twitter, Facebook, emails and texts:

(You’ll need to press “Read More” at the bottom of the post to see all of them!)

PJ Shaw: He can take down his name plate….he can clean out his locker….he can retire his cleats…..but his irreplaceable legacy will always remain the heart and soul of the Steelers. The shadow of his name and the memories in his locker will always be there. As for his shoes….there will never be another quarterback who will fill them. God’s speed to Ben, may he enjoy the life that is his destiny as a Christian, a husband, and a father. He deserves all the happiness by which he is blessed.

“Dear Ben, I felt that the Holy Spirit was compelling me to reach out to you with what is on my heart. Let me first say, Thank You for the exciting years you brought to Steelers football. I have been following the Steelers since I was a young boy when Terry Bradshaw, Tony Dungy, and so many other well known Steelers played. I remember the year you were drafted and many of the struggles you faced early on in your career off the field. I also seem to remember early on your stance as a Christian. Your ‘PFJ’ message on your cleats. To me – that is one of the details that stand out most to me about your career. Not that you are perfect, but that you are a man trying to live out your faith through the strength of God’s Holy Spirit living within you. It is with that in mind I write the rest of this email. My hope and prayer is that it will be an encouragement to you in your spiritual walk. In order to shorten this email, I will highlight my thoughts I’ve compiled. Pointing […]
