The Steelers started slowly but finished strong in Baltimore and improved to 7-0 with a 28-24 victory over the Ravens.

Baltimore fell to 5-2.

The Steelers rallied from a 24-21, fourth-quarter deficit with an eight-play, 80-yard drive in 4:27 that ended on an 8-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to wide receiver Chase Claypool. Kicker Chris Boswell’s extra point gave the Steelers a 28-24 lead with 7:29 left in regulation.

Nose tackle Isaiah Buggs, who was playing due to an injury sustained by Tyson Alualu, came off a block and started to take Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson to the ground short of the line to gain on fourth-and-3 from the Steelers’ 8-yard line just inside the two-minute warning. Inside linebacker Vince Williams and free safety Minkah Fitzpatrick helped finish Jackson off on the play, which resulted in a fumble and a recovery by inside linebacker Robert Spillane.

“I’m just glad they’re my defense.” — Big Ben giving the Steelers D big props after the team’s big win in Baltimore to stay undefeated.

The Steelers were unable to generate a first down and kill the clock and punted the ball back to the Ravens with 52 seconds left in regulation.

The Ravens took over at their 37-yard line and drove to the Steelers’ 23 with eight seconds left in the fourth quarter but Fitzpatrick and cornerback Justin Layne successfully defended Jackson’s last-gasp pass into the end zone for wide receiver Willie Snead IV.

I received a package from the Pittsburgh Steelers Football Club today and I wanted to try to express my gratitude, I still have tears. There was an autographed Ben jersey in it which I will cherish and treasure.

I have stage 4 ovarian cancer and the Steelers bring me so much joy on my couch days. I have been a fan since I was 10 years old, and Ben has been my favorite since he entered the NFL.

I have never been to a game, but I don’t miss them via watching or listening. I live in Fremont, Ohio, so it varies.

I just had new cancer bracelets made and I chose Steelers colors, not my teal color of my cancer, because this team means so much to me!

My oncologist is moving from Cleveland Clinic to Magee Women’s Hospital at UPMC, so I am hoping I will at least get to see the stadium now, I have never been to Pittsburgh.

Please know my appreciation and gratitude from my heart and I just wish I could let Ben know what an inspiration he is to me, and I am praying for God’s blessings to keep him and our team undefeated and safe and healthy this year, just for Ben, and me.

THANK YOU and please know how much difference these things can make in a life of someone who has a lot of rough and dark days.

There is still plenty of time for your department to complete & enter a grant request during the 2020 grant cycle of the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation at The Giving Back Fund.

This marks the 14th season of grants for Ben’s foundation. The majority of the grants distributed will help police and fire department K-9 units to purchase dogs and dog safety vests, but other types of K-9 specific needs will be considered.

This year, Ben has opened up the eligibility to include all towns and communities in the United States and invites police and fire departments to submit proposals detailing their needs.

The Foundation began accepting proposals on September 1st, and will continue to accept them through the remainder of the year. The plan is to make rolling announcements in that time frame and beyond.

The mission of the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation is to support K-9 units of police and fire departments throughout the United States with a particular emphasis on support for service dogs in Pittsburgh, PA.

In addition, Ben’s foundation has hosted a number of events to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation, his high school alma mater, and other organizations close to his heart.

Ben’s foundation has distributed in excess of $2.2 million since 2007, $1.8 million of which has specifically benefited K-9 programs.

Ben Roethlisberger has played in his share of Steelers-Ravens game.

He knows it’s one of the prime rivalries in the NFL, an AFC North battle that is always physical, always hard-fought, and always has a huge impact in the AFC North standings.

Despite the physical nature, which included Roethlisberger having his nose broken in 2010, he did say that the game is never a dirty one, and that is what he loves about it.

“It’s tough. It’s a physical one. It can be nasty at times. I have always felt, as many times as my nose has been broken, I have had injuries, it’s been a close game. It’s always been football in its truest form. It’s never been dirty. It’s never been nasty. It’s just been hard-nosed football. This is one you always want your bye week to be after.”

On Tuesday, Coach Mike Tomlin said the Steelers are involved in the ‘game of the week’ for the third consecutive week after taking on the Browns, who were 4-1 at the time, and then the Titans, who were 5-0 before losing to the Steelers. This week it’s the AFC North’s top two teams with the Steelers, 6-0, and the Ravens, 5-1.

Baltimore traditionally has a strong defense and this year is no different. They bring the heat from every direction, and Roethlisberger knows the entire offense will have to be on their toes.

Ben threw two touchdown passes to Diontae Johnson, and the Steelers remain perfect, holding off Tennessee 27-24 Sunday in a game originally scheduled for October 4th and rescheduled due to Titans players and personnel becoming the NFL’s first team with a COVID-19 outbreak during the season.

“A blowout became a nail-biter and eventually the Steelers’ sixth win in six tries.

Titans kicker Stephen Gostkowski missed wide right on a 45-yard field goal attempt with 14 seconds left in the fourth quarter and the Steelers held on for a 27-24 win.
