A “small world” moment

“Didn’t know my basketball coaching debut was gonna be against Ben Roethlisberger today! Had to let him know that the girl guarding his son was also the Browns baby from 8 years ago at his locker 😂 Life is funny sometimes how it comes back to you❤️ #HereWeGo” — Ryan Kennedy.
Heaven has received a beautiful Steelers Angel
Vivian (Mintz) Veith-Ackroyd, a generous soul who loved life.
“My Mother will be buried Monday, February 4th wearing her favorite player’s jersey – #7 Ben Roethlisberger, while clutching her Terrible Towel.
Viv was 89 years old, 2 months shy of her 90th birthday…no question the Steelers have just lost their Number One Fan. She cheered them on for 80+ years.
My Grandfather, Jake Mintz was a good friend of Art Rooney back in the 40s/early 50s…he sadly passed away in 1957.
Art and Jake first got acquainted through boxing – Jake managed HWC Ezzard Charles. As a young girl, my Mom recalled sitting on Mr. Rooney’s lap at home games. Mr. Rooney even named one of his horses – Jake Mintz.
For all these years, my Mom was a diehard Steelers fan. During games, she wouldn’t answer the phone; during the Super Bowls – if they were in it, she stayed home alone to watch – no disturbances.
Her love for the team and the sport was unwavering.” — Lori Weatherwalks.
Please accept our heartfelt condolences. With sympathy and love to the Mintz Family.
