Registration is open for the 2013 Ben Roethlisberger Football Camp
“Let me just say that Ben’s camp was an absolute delight!! It’s a very well run and organized camp with never a dull moment. Ben is great with the kids! Once again he threw the football to every camper so they could have chance to ‘catch a pass from Big Ben’! Both of my grandson’s caught their passes! YEAH!! Thanks so much to Ben for a wonderful experience for my grandsons!!” – Anita Doddroe, June 19, 2012.

“Thank you so much Ben!”
This week’s fan story comes from Tom Keen, of DuBois, PA:
My wife, Alexis and I were driving home from Florida after visiting her parents for the holidays and we ended up staying at the Hyatt Regency in Louisville, Kentucky. It was funny because it was probably a 1 in 30 chance that we ended up at that hotel because we used Priceline to book it so we didn’t get to choose where we stayed.
We were up in our room and looking on the Facebook page when we realized Big Ben, Brett Keisel, and Merril Hodge were in the area at the ATA Show. We decided to get dressed and walk around the hotel a bit, never thinking we would run into them. We walked down to the lobby and literally two minutes later Big Ben walked in the front door.
Being huge Steelers fans for 25 years, my wife and I were totally stoked! I called out to him that I would love to get a picture with him and he hollered over to me, “Let’s do it”!
We were so excited that night we could hardly sleep. Thank you so much Ben for stopping for us to get a picture, and to make such an awesome memory.
Congratulations to you and your wife on having Ben Junior and much luck next year. Hopefully you can bring home Number Seven! — Tom Keen
*Thank you for sharing the photo and story, Tom!!

Congrats to Coach Arians on the Arizona job! Cardinals, you’re getting a great coach and an even better person! — Ben
Thursday Night at Jergels
At Jergels tonight to watch the Gin Blossoms. Ron and all the people at Jergels are awesome! — Ben
Jergel’s Rhythm Grille is located at 103 Slade Lane in Warrendale, PA.
The Grille was the site for The Ben Roethlisberger Foundation event in July of 2012, Heath Miller’s Glimmer of Hope benefit in November of 2012, and will be the site of the much-anticipated Brett Keisel’s Shear Da Beard event on February 7th (sorry, tickets are sold out).
Jergels was also the home base for the “Rock & Roll for a Cause” Hurricane Sandy Donation Drive in November.
You can check Jergels calendar of performers here.
USA Archery says: #benknowsarchery
Ben, Brett Keisel and Merril Hoge were at the Archery Trade Association Show in Kentucky earlier today checking out the latest in Archery and Bowhunting equipment, as well as posing with fans and dealers at the popular show.
The ATA Show runs through tomorrow at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville.
This is Teresa Iaconi from Archery Times (@Archery_Times) and ATA‘s Amy Hatfield (@ATATradeShow) posing with Big Ben.
Although not a Steelers fan, Teresa did say that she “decided a mutual love of archery was more important than team loyalty” when it came to posing with #7!
Ben also took a few moments to answer questions from Archery Time‘s Matt Coffey:
Why do you like coming to the ATA?
This is my third year (at the ATA Trade Show) and we’re hoping to bring it to Pittsburgh so it’s a little closer for us. I’ve met some good friends through Bowtech and have developed even more friendships through (archery). I enjoy coming here because I love hunting, that’s the main reason. To come here and see the new things coming out and to see friends I don’t get to see except for this time of year is excellent.
How do you find time to hunt during football season?
We usually get one or two days off a week – or at least half days – so I usually get out quite a bit. Now that the (football) season’s over, I’ve been out the last five or six days. I get out as much as I can, trust me.
How did last deer season end up for you?
We’re doing a lot of herd management and killing a lot of does and we’ve taken a couple nice bucks off my parents’ property. Overall, the turkeys and deer have been great.
You can check out Archery Time’s website here.

T.R.U. Ball Archery was pleased to see Ben, Brett, and Merril Hoge at the show as well!
That’s Tommy Troyer, of T.R.U. Ball Archery, who tweeted that he was just “Hanging with Big Ben, Brett Keisel, and Merril Hoge”. He also said he felt “small” standing next […]
First fan photos of 2013
The new year is just a few days old, but we’ve already had some great pictures sent in of lil’ fans, big fans and even a couple of Steelers pets, and all have been added to Ben’s photo gallery!
Just your typical “garden variety” Big Ben fans:
19-month old twins Cooper and Camron Grodi are just chillin’ in the garden in their #7’s day-dreaming about the start of Steelers Mini Camp!
“They sure love watching the Steelers”, says their mom, Jackie. “Every time football comes on they are yelling, ‘go, go, go’ and ‘Touchdown’!”
You can check out all the latest photos in one place (two pages worth)!

Remember the story shared by U.S. Army veteran Noah Galloway last year?
He had his photo taken with Ben after the two met in the airport in March of 2012 and shared it on Twitter:
“It’s a great feeling when Roethlisberger introduces himself to you and thanks you for your service. Great guy! It was incredible to have him come up to me…I really appreciated it!”
Noah had just completed the White Sands Missile Range 23rd Annual Bataan Memorial Death March in New Mexico, and was on his way home to Alabama when he met Ben in the airport. Noah and his team, TEAM X-T.R.E.M.E completed the 26.2 mile march wearing 47lb packs and gas masks.
His photo with Ben was also featured as the website’s Photo of the Week in November during Veterans Day week to coincide with Ben’s Salute to our Troops tribute!
Not only did Noah and Ben become friends after their chance meeting, but Noah hasn’t stopped moving since that March in March:
Noah has many more events planned in the new year, including a Super Spartan Race.
Noah is determined to inspire others by his actions, by training like a machine and demonstrating that challenges are meant to be conquered no matter how big they might be.
