That’s right! On Friday evening at Heinz Field, Brett Keisel was honored at the 20th Annual Mel Blount Youth Home All-Star Celebrity Roast benefiting Blount’s Youth Leadership Initiative.

Throwback Thursday: The Case of the Mysterious Bumble Bee Jersey Guy

Back on April 9th of 2017, Andrew Fillipponi noticed a man in a #7 “bumble bee” jersey rise up out of the crowd waiting for Sergio Garcia’s Masters victory:

Who was that mysterious fan? Mr. Burt Lauten, the Steelers Director of Communications swore it wasn’t him!

While we were left wondering for several days, the mysterious fan finally stepped forward:

“I’m the Bumble Bee guy!!”


A gentleman by the name of Ron Manz saw the tweets re-posted here, and emailed us!


“It’s an absolute thrill to be featured on Ben’s website! I had no idea that things would explode as they have when I wore his jersey to The Masters.

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh and graduated from North Allegheny High School and Clarion University. I have lived in Charleston, SC for the past 15 years and I am President of Charleston Seafood. I actually ship seafood to many customers in the Pittsburgh area, which gives me an opportunity to ‘talk Steelers’ with them. I’m so very proud of my Pittsburgh roots, and my entire family still resides in the North Hills.

I’m fortunate enough to attend The Masters every year, and when Ben announced he would return – I had to wear his Jersey on the final round on Sunday. I travel to see as many Steelers games as possible, but when in Charleston, I watch the games with 50 to 60 of my closest friends – all wearing Steelers jerseys and waving our Terrible Towels!


Steeler Nation is alive and well in Charleston!” — Ron.



And what happened to that jersey? Will Ron wear it again this year to The Masters?

No way! He sent it later that summer to have Ben autograph it, then had it framed, along with the tweets, to remember his very different day at The Masters in 2017!

Ben’s 10th Annual Football Camp date has been set!

The Ben Roethlisberger Football ProCamp will be returning to the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on June 17th!

“My son Camden had a blast and learned a lot! Ben and his family were absolutely great! And the Rooney’s thanks for letting Ben use the indoor practice field!!! It saved a lot of us parents and grandparents from that heat!! Lol. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and a great way to spend Father’s Day!! We will be attending Ben’s future youth camps no doubt about it! #ClassActOnAndOffTheField” — Shawn Coulson.

Campers will learn fundamental football skills and have the opportunity to meet and interact with #7 himself.

And that’s not all!

Before the day ends, each camper will receive a souvenir autograph from BEN, have the opportunity to catch a pass from BEN, and receive a team photo with BEN.

“My son had ‘the best day ever!!!!!’ He was so nice to all the children and made a point to interact with as many as he could. The first of many we will be attending for sure!!!!” — Andrea Montroy.

As usual, Ben will be on-site to direct the event and will be joined by a selection of prep and college coaches from the area. The event is open to boys and girls of all skill levels in grades 1-8. Proceeds benefit the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation.
