9-Oh Mama
Lawman has put an end to my running, and I’m so far from my home….
“When I threw Friday, my arm felt really, really good…it definitely felt good going into this game!” — Ben.
Ben Roethlisberger had himself a day today.
333 yards and four touchdown passes without taking a snap Wednesday through Friday.
And he might even get a break from teaching Pre-K tomorrow to celebrate.

From Brooke Pryor at ESPN.com:
Ben Roethlisberger might never practice again.
OK, that’s unlikely, but Roethlisberger proved he didn’t need a week of practice when he put together his best game of the season in a 36-10 win against the Cincinnati Bengals to preserve the Pittsburgh Steelers’ undefeated record.
Unable to be at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex, Roethlisberger spent five days in isolation after being labeled as a high-risk close contact of tight end Vance McDonald, who tested positive for the coronavirus last week. Because he never tested positive or developed symptoms, Roethlisberger was removed from the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday in time for an extended walk-through with the team.
That was all he needed.
The veteran quarterback completed 27 of 46 attempts for a season-high 333 yards and four touchdowns, also a season high. With the four touchdowns, he set a franchise record with 124 multi-touchdown games, good for eighth in NFL history.
It’s also Roethlisberger’s first game of throwing four touchdowns since Week 10, 2018, against the Carolina Panthers, according to ESPN Stats & Information research. He hasn’t thrown four touchdowns against an AFC North opponent since he had six against the Baltimore Ravens on Week 9, 2014.
Roethlisberger came into Sunday’s game averaging 241 passing yards per game, a mark he eclipsed in the first half when he completed 17 of 27 attempts for 243 yards and two touchdowns.
By the fourth quarter, the game turned into the Steelers’ first blowout of the season, but it took a few drives for Roethlisberger and the offense to get in sync.
Coach Mike Tomlin was never worried about his veteran quarterback playing without a week of practice — and with good reason. After 17 years in the NFL, Roethlisberger is more than capable of playing in a game without a week […]
The Ben Roethlisberger Foundation
Your agency still has time to complete & enter a grant request during the 2020 grant cycle of the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation at The Giving Back Fund.
This marks the 14th season of grants for Ben’s foundation. The majority of the grants distributed will help police and fire department K-9 units to purchase dogs and dog safety vests, but other types of K-9 specific needs will be considered.
This year, Ben has opened up the eligibility to include all towns and communities in the United States and invites police and fire departments to submit proposals detailing their needs.
The Foundation began accepting proposals on September 1st, and will continue to accept them through the remainder of the year. The plan is to make rolling announcements in that time frame and beyond.
The mission of the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation is to support K-9 units of police and fire departments throughout the United States with a particular emphasis on support for service dogs in Pittsburgh, PA.
In addition, Ben’s foundation has hosted a number of events to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation, his high school alma mater, and other organizations close to his heart.
Ben’s foundation has distributed in excess of $2.2 million since 2007, $1.8 million of which has specifically benefited K-9 programs.
Full grant guidelines and application cover page are available at https://www.givingback.org/ben-roethlisberger-foundation-application-2020/.
Applications and supporting documents must be mailed and postmarked between September 1st and December 31st.

“When we make Steelers gifts, we always like to say ‘Made in Steelers country, for Steelers country.’ We’re just up the road from Pittsburgh, and our team here bleeds black and gold. We couldn’t be more excited to work with Ben’s foundation and help make a difference in the community. We think these ornaments are going to go quick.” — Christian Werner, Wendell August Forge President.
Add a little black & gold sparkle to that tree!

A Throwback Thursday on a Wednesday?
He’s trying to sing “You’re A Grand Old Flag” and doesn’t like that his brother and sister are singing also! — Ben.
Ben’s Veterans Day Salute

My girlfriend Natalie Karpinsky is a Senior Airman in Security Forces for the U.S. Air Force. She has been serving for 3 years and is currently active duty. She was deployed in the Middle East for 7.5 months this year. When she’s not deployed she serves full time at the 171 Refueling Base in Pittsburgh.

Besides her family, Natalie keeps love for her Country first and love for her City second. She is a Black & Gold girl through thick and thin. We even have a ‘Ben wall’ in our game room, lol. Needless to say, she is proud to be an American and proud to be a Yinzer.

The most enjoyment I get out here is watching the team win on Sundays. Because of the circumstances with this week’s bye, I am using part of my day off to finally listen to Mr. Roethlisberger’s Man Up testimony and Bigger Than Ben series. Both were amazing.

8-Oh ‘boys!! 🤠

As they had done against the Ravens, the Steelers rallied to beat the Cowboys.
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s 8-yard touchdown pass to tight end Eric Ebron with 2:14 left in regulation provided the Steelers’ first lead and they hung on for a 24-19 victory.
“I’m not taking any shots at anybody, but if you didn’t know who America’s team was, you should have seen the stands and all of the Terrible Towels. Dallas may be America’s team but we will be the World’s team because we have fans everywhere & they are the best in the world.” — Ben, post-game.
Pittsburgh is 8-0 for the first time in the storied franchise’s history despite an upset bid from the Cowboys, who were the biggest underdogs they’ve been at home in at least 31 years.
Happy Game Day
